Are Contact Lenses Right for You?

Contact lenses have advanced a lot since their first introduction, allowing them to address more issues in more people than ever before. At RVEC, we offer a range of contact lens types to help you find your fit.

We encourage daily disposable contact lenses that can offer enhanced convenience and comfort for almost all types of vision problems, including astigmatism. Bifocal or multifocal lenses can offer sharper vision at multiple distances, near and far.

Specialty contact lenses are also available for those folks who may be “hard to fit” with traditional contact lenses.

We’ll perform a comprehensive contact lens exam and fitting process to prescribe the appropriate contact lenses for your needs.

During this process, we consider your eye health, visual clarity, and lifestyle to help us determine your suitability for contacts. If you have hard-to-fit eyes, we can offer specialty lenses to address your concerns and help provide clear, comfortable vision.

Examining Your Eyes

The first step in getting contact lenses is to have an up-to-date comprehensive eye exam. We’ll assess your eye health and determine your contact lens prescription.

Our contact lens exam follows a similar process to our routine eye exams, but with a couple of different steps to help determine that the lenses we offer are right for you and your lifestyle.

Fitting Your Contacts

A contact lens fitting is an individualized process where we determine the size and shape of your eyes to prescribe contacts that can fit properly and deliver clear vision.

During your fitting, we’ll analyze the curvature of your cornea and the quality of your tears to support your comfort.

Trying Them On

We keep a large inventory of disposable contact lenses available for you to try on at your fitting.

We may make some adjustments to fine-tune the fitting, and then we can order a supply of contacts once we know you’re satisfied with the lenses. We may also book a follow-up appointment or phone call in a few weeks to examine your eyes once more and see how you’re adjusting to life with contact lenses.

If you notice any irritating symptoms while wearing your contacts, please remove them and call our team as soon as you can. We can adjust your contact lenses to better suit your needs.
